Valerie has spent most of her life singing and playing the piano, so in 2002 she completed her degree as a music therapist. She has worked with babies, children & adults in many different facilities & schools across the country. Valerie has been called the pied piper because children of all ages (even ones she just met) tend to gather around and follow her. Because of her background filled with music and children, teaching Music Together comes naturally to her. She has a passion for sharing her love of music with this pint-sized generation.
Valerie lives in Waco with a supportive husband, a little girl who loves singing Music Together songs and a pack of animals that is growing larger by the day. She loves cooking and baking real food from scratch, modern farm living and old fashioned hard work.
Registered Teacher since 2019
B.S. in Interdisciplinary Studies, Texas A&M University
As a mom, former teacher & life-long maker & consumer of music, teaching Music Together was the perfect way for Rachel to integrate her love for children & music. She began singing at 3, playing the piano at 6 & fell in love with the violin at 8. Known for her gregarious & goofy personality, Rachel's teaching style is creative, fun & relaxed.
Rachel lives in Woodway with her husband Mike, their two littles (ages 4.5 & 2.5) & a sweet fur baby. Their home is filled with music, laughter, dancing, lots of dog hair & sheer craziness! She enjoys dessert, naps, live theatre, ladies' nights, novels, Cabernet Sauvignon & playing board games.
Fun fact: Prior to becoming a Music Together teacher, Rachel & her kids were in Ms. Valerie's Music Together class!
