Our Story

Way back in 2000, Valerie was working on her degree in music therapy.  She attended several national conferences where Music Together® Worldwide had a booth set up.  She would pass by, feel intrigued and then keep on walking.  The Music Together name came up over and over again.  She appreciated the high quality music and research-based program, but it just wasn't the right time yet.

Fast forward to 2013 when her daughter was 2 years old.  Valerie's mom wanted to gift her with a fun music class, and immediately Music Together came to Valerie's mind.  Music Together's marketing had finally paid off!  Over a decade later, and it was still on her mind.  She decided to try a class in Wheatridge, CO (near Denver) and FELL IN LOVE.  While her daughter was running amuck, Valerie sang, danced, had a blast and kept thinking to herself, "why on earth am I not doing this myself???"  Valerie immediately went home and began researching.

Luck would have it that a Music Together Teaching Training was happening in Denver just a few weeks later, so she signed up.  She even received a partial scholarship to help out with the expenses!  That weekend was full of the most joyful fun.  The participants were required to act like children in a music class (the BEST part!), they danced, sang, made beautiful harmonies, observed others. . . . .it was such a meaningful weekend.  By the time they sang the Goodbye Song on the last day, everyone was crying.  What a memory.  What an experience.  Valerie's silly quotient (Music Together's term for when someone stops adulting and throws caution to the wind) was birthed at that training.  2 months later, Valerie was a brand new director and teacher and started her own Music Together center called Tiny Treble Makers (TTM).

Valerie's first class in 2013 was small but sweet.   Three of the original families stayed with Tiny Treble Makers until the very last class in Lakewood, CO in 2017.  After 4 years, TTM had grown to 35 families at 2 locations with 2 additional teachers.  In the summer of 2017, Valerie sold the business to one of her amazing teachers and moved to Waco, TX.

What a ride this has been, with moving a business to another state, dealing with COVID in 2020 and everything else that comes along with owning a small business.  But it has been good.  We survived COVID by offering virtual online classes, outdoor classes and adapted indoor classes. We can't wait to see what is in store for our future and are so excited that YOU get to be a part of OUR STORY.
